INSTAGRAM – REAL OR FAKE?
It’s Friday and this has been the most hellish week ever.
We had a flood about 2 months ago and we only just had our new flooring fitted yesterday. Our house has been a pigsty for weeks and it’s only now getting back to looking semi-presentable.
It got me thinking about why we obsess over our homes.
I have a genuine interest in Interior Design and I love nothing more than scrolling through the pages of beautiful homes on my Instagram feed. However, having the capacity to keep my home looking like the ones in these photos is just out of the question.
I have 1 child. Just 1. And 99.9% of the time my living room resembles a dumping ground. Filled with toys, half eaten food squashed into the floor. Water spilled everywhere, and an array of other delightful bits strewn haphazardly all over the room.
So… My question is this…
Is this all real or fake???
Are these simply show-homes, where nobody lives there but the owners just visit from time to time to take beautiful photographs?
Or are they the homes of childless people who are wonderfully neat and tidy, who choose to eat all of their food over the kitchen sink, and can wear white for longer than an hour?
OR (and I believe this is the most likely scenario)… is my child just the spawn of Satan, purposefully sent to cause absolute destruction and mayhem in our home???
