It goes without saying that Friday is the best day of the week (for most – I apologise to all the poor souls who work in retail and don’t get to enjoy the weekend). So in the spirit of basking in the gloriousness (is that a word) that is this sacred day, I’ve decided to share all of the things and people that have been making me happy recently. Enjoy!

WE ARE LIVING IN A MATERIAL WORLD & I AM A MATERIAL GIRL

First thing, or rather things are my enamel pins. Now this may seem like a strange thing to natter on about, but I am truly loving being able to make more of a statement with my style, even if it’s just subtle.

I’ve spoken previously about The English Company  and the beautiful collection of pins they have, but as well as them I’ve also been enjoying a few others. Natasha Bailie (if you don’t follow her on IG then what are you doing with your life?) teamed up with Kay Barker, a super talented illustrator to create the “You Ok Hun” enamel pins. They were a way of bringing Mental Health to the forefront and I BLOODY LOVE IT!!!

Unfortunately they were limited edition and only 100 were made. But I am so happy to have bagged one!

And YES those are my real nails!!! 🙂

As well as this glorious little piece of goodness, I’ve also recently purchased another little beauty from https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/DorkfaceShop.

This amazingly talented lady sells an abundance of goodies that you will not be sorry you bought, but this pin in particular is my fave.

And yes these are still my real nails, I’ve just had them cut shorter so that I can function in daily life. 😀

For me, this pin isn’t only beautiful. It’s meaningful.

My son is on the Autism spectrum and that’s what this represents to me. It’s a daily reminder that he is special and colourful, and to be celebrated. I wear it with pride!

Netflix & Chill

Onto entertainment, and none other than that of the offerings of Netflix, and there’s only one thing I’ve been watching recently.

SUITS!!!

Now I know I’m very late to the party, but my hubby has been watching it a while, with me point blank refusing partake. However, I don’t know if it’s all of the chat of Meghan Markle (sorry Duchess of Sussex) but I’ve become interested and now I’m hooked! We’ve just reached the beginning of season 7 and it is truly worth a watch.

“Music is what feelings sound like”

I’ve been listening to a lot of new stuff recently and have narrowed my favourites down to two. First up is Kanye West’s new album “Ye”. I’ve enjoyed this album so much recently, that I’d even go so far as to say I love it almost as much as Kanye loves Kanye.

Next up is Florence + the Machine’s new album “High As Hope”. It’s just one of those easy listening albums that you listen to without even realising time has passed. There’s not one bad song on the 10 track album.
