Family Weekend in Taynuilt

So it’s a new year and one of the things I’d really love to do more of in 2018 is spend some quality time with my family, which I did this past weekend.

My husband, son and I, along with my sisters and brother joined my mum and her partner for a little January weekend away in Argyll & Bute. If you’ve never visited there then you really should make a plan to. It is such a beautiful part of the country, filled with mountains and valleys, waterfalls and Lochs… It is simply stunning, and a place we as a family hold very near to our hearts.

So we stayed in a beautiful self-contained cottage which boasts spectacular views of Loch Etive and the ‘Shepherds of Glencoe’ to the North, Ben Cruachan to the East, Morvern to the West and Barguillean Hill to the South. It slept 8 people and had an open plan livingroom, kitchen and dining room. It was simply the house of dreams!

We ate, drank and played silly games all weekend, without turning the TV on even once. It was proper family time, something that we haven’t done together in such a long time, and it was really brilliant.

No worries, no stresses… just family and relaxing.

I urge you all to take some time away from life every now and again. You will honestly feel so much better for it and if like me you often feel a bit bogged down and overwhelmed by life, then it is truly a necessity.

2018 is the year of ‘Self Care & Self Love’ for me and I am going to make it a priority to do more of this!
